Vicente Ferreira Pastinha, son of Jose Senor Pastinha and Raimunda dos Santos, was born on April 5, 1889, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He began Capoeira when he was 10 years old with Negro Bentinho, who had watched Pastinha through his window, losing fights to boys older than him. This made Negro Bentinho decide to teach Pastinha how to use the movement, entrances and escapes of Capoeira.This DVD tells the history about capoeira and the hard life of Mestre Pastinha.
